Greece, also known as the Hellenic Republic is located at the tip of the Balkan Peninsula in Europe. This is a country flourished by many beautiful islands surrounded by the Aegean and Ionian seas, with extraordinary sunsets. Greece is infamous for its black sand beaches and magical deep blue water, making the perfect spot for romantic getaways and weddings in Mykonos and Santorini. Historical sites are also found in Athens, the heart of Ancient Greece, containing the hilltop temple of Acropolis dating back to 5th century B.C., as well as many other historic landmarks. The architecture of many buildings, mainly the villages and islands, contribute to the character and unique style. The climate is also something most liked by tourists, temperatures stay above 50 degrees in the winters and below 90 degrees in warm summers, and extended periods of sunshine yearlong.

Some noticeable challenges Greece has been facing for quite some time is economic debt, crime and high unemployment rates. The economy of Greece began plummeting in 2008 after the collapse of Wall Street. The country received billions of dollars in bailouts to help the crisis, but most spending went to the debt rather than the rebuilding of the economy. The economic crisis has also put Greece in an unreliable state with the rest of Europe, as they have not managed to build the economy enough so that it can stand on its own. Although the country is still struggling to recover from the crisis, Greece took its final bailout this past year in the hopes of finally securing the economy. Unemployment rates are still high at 20 percent, but Greece is expecting a .50 percent growth rate in the economy in the next quarter, as it may continue to improve.
